GRASS-FED BULLS
Our bulls are bred specifically for regenerative, pasture-based systems.
Raised entirely on grass, without grain or concentrates, and selected for traits that will work for you: easy calving, fertility, good temperament, and efficient performance on forage alone.

2-Year Old Bulls

Cabalva Ash Z258
Cabalva Ash is out of one of our best cow families. Ash was bought back from our partner breeder Geraint Powell. Ash is out of Phepson Aphrodit and by Phepson Elite. Phepson Aphrodit has been a first cycle breeder every year.

Phepson Jupiter Z311
Phepson Jupiter is out of a favourite cow of ours, Phepson Jane and by Phepson Red Masterplan so will be a red gene carrier.
Phepson Jane had her first calf in June in the second cycle as a heifer and then has been a first cycle breeder for her subsequent four calves gaining a month on her first calf. Red Masterplan is a son of Dunlouise Red Eddard who goes back to Evesund of Dupplin, "the great fixer of udders".
Date of birth: 20/05/2023

Cabalva Excalibur Z261
Cabalva Excalibur is by Phepson Elite, our current main herd sire, and out of Eddisbury Entonia. Entonia had her first calf in August and has gained 3 months for her last four calves all being first cycle, giving her an average calving interval of 352 days.
Date of birth: 31/05/2023

Cabalva Ernest Z243
Cabalva Ernest is out of a Kaiser daughter and he is sired by Phepson Elite so he offers a really nice package of Phepson Angus genetics. His Dam is a red cow who has been a first cycle breeder ever year and is sired by our foundation sire, Oxencraig Kaiser.
Date of birth: 16/05/2023

For people used to buying bulls that are fed grain, it can be difficult to picture what a 2-year old will look like when he's all grown up.
Hopefully this video helps!

Focus on the Feminine
Why for us it's all about the cow
By looking at the calving record of each cow, we can see which animals bred in the first or second cycle each year.
We can also see if any animals gain time through their breeding life. For example, if they have their first calf in July, subsequent calf in June and then are first cycle breeders in May from then on, it shows that the animal is inherently fertile in our grass-fed production system.
